Transcript of Sen. Manny Villar’s press conference

October 26, 2009

Q: Reaction sa Senate Media mock polls
Villar: Nais ko munang magpasalamat sa resulta ng mock polls dito sa Senado. Natutuwa ako dahil maganda naman ang pagtingin sa atin ng Senate media. Mahalaga kasi iyan. Alam natin na matatalino ang Senate media. Malaking bagay iyan. Basta sa akin, I’ve always looked at the Senate media as our friends.

Q: May napili ka nang maging VP?
Villar: Ang napagkasunduan ng partido ay maga-announce tayo first or second week of November.

Senator to tell Vidal: I didn’t co-author bill

October 22, 2009 – Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III yesterday said he never co-authored the reproductive health bill.

He told CEBU DAILY NEWS that the misunderstanding may have stemmed from his chairmanship of the Senate committee on local government where Senate Bill No. 3122 was referred to. But Aquino said he didn’t even sign the committee report because he wanted to interpolate and ask questions about certain provisions of the bill. “Somebody just assumed that I signed the committee report… and that I co-authored the bill because the (name) of the committee chairman has prominence in the report,” he added.

Just as tropical depression “Pepeng” was about to leave the Philippines, it had to give its last devastating goodbye. In scenes reminiscent of the typhoon “Ondoy’s” assault on Metro Manila last September 26, panicked Pangasinan residents escaped to their rooftops as they watch their homes get ravaged by floodwater. Nacionalista Party (NP) President Sen. Manny Villar went out to extend help to the flood victims who are in dire need of relief and assistance.

‘Be your own boss,’ Villar tells students

October 10, 2009

PRESIDENTIABLE Manny Villar advised more than 4,000 students to be entrepreneurs rather than strive to pursue a career.

“You should not all lose hope. Even if you are not rich, not smart or physically disabled, do not worry. If you have nothing, you have nothing to lose. And that is one ingredient on becoming a perfect entrepreneur,” Villar said.

Villar privately met with officials of University of Mindanao before speaking at the ‘Yes! Young Entrepreneur’s Summit’ yesterday afternoon at the school’s Embassy gym along Bolton Street. The forum was attended by students from other schools as well.
