The trouble with Noynoy’s February 9 pronouncement is that it is only being done after Noynoy had already dropped to a steep dive ending in a statistical tie with Manny Villar.
When I sent messages to Noynoy Aquino through friends like Tony Aquino (no relations) and Popoy Juico, that he should not join this presidential race because he will just render not only himself but his family as fair game, my best intentions were ignored and instead I was insulted.

The camp of Sen. Manny Villar on Saturday expressed elation on the results of a new Pulse Asia survey showing the Nacionalista Party (NP) standard-bearer making it into the top list of most beloved national political leader.
Although the late former president Corazon Aquino and her husband Ninoy were Number 1 and Number 2, respectively, Villar placed No. 6 beating his closest rival Noynoy Aquino who did not even make it into the Top 15.
The Pulse Asia survey, conducted on Jan. 22 to 26, showed that Noynoy languishing anywhere from 20th to 28th place.
According to Chicago-based Journalist Joseph G. Lariosa, no Filipino newspaper or magazine – or for that matter no Overseas-Filipino hardcopy or online publication – has ever endorsed a presidential candidate in the history of Philippine politics. The MabuhayRadio.com now officially endorses the candidacy of Manny Villar for President of the Philippines. This may, therefore, be a historic endorsement.

Should RP Newspapers Endorse Candidates?
Campaign strategists of the Villar camp (Nacionalista Party, or NP) have apparently found a sure-fire way for their standard-bearer, Sen. Manuel Villar, to beat Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III (Liberal Party, or LP) in the current race for the presidency. As the latest Pulse Asia surveys have shown, Villar and Aquino are now statistically tied, with Villar getting 38 percent and Aquino 37 percent.
This survey finding has, of course, shown how effectively the NP standard-bearer has been able to broaden and solidify his support base. Conversely, it has shown that the LP’s bet, who had started his campaign on a formidably solid footing (with an unbelievably high rating of 51 percent against Villar’s 23 percent), is now standing on shaky ground.
In fairness to Gibo, up to now nakikita naman namin sa field pangatawan naman ng Pangulo.
Q: Kahit anong pag-uusap ho walang nangyari?
Relatives of the victims of Hacienda Luisita massacre and agrarian reform advocates called on LP standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to show proof of his campaign slogan “Tuloy ang Laban” by implementing genuine agrarian reform in his own backyard.
The challenge was aired following Noynoy’s speech during the campaign kick off rally in Tarlac Tuesday saying that the Cojuangcos and the Aquinos, for decades now, have made the lives of Hacienda Luisita farmers and sugar workers miserable.
THE Nacionalista Party accused the Liberal Party Monday of spreading false text messages claiming that Senator Manuel Villar Jr. had forged a secret deal to make President Arroyo speaker of the House in exchange for logistical support during the presidential campaign.
“The latest black propaganda dished out by the LP call center of lies really showed its desperation to undermine Senator Villar’s presidential bid,” Nacionalista spokesman and senatorial bet Gilbert Remulla said a day before the official campaign period for national candidates begins.
