Waaah! Mom, they’re picking on me!!!Waaah….I miss Jamboy!!!
Goodness, if i weren’t there, I wouldn’t have believed it. Noynoy getting peeved with Tony Lopez who was moderating at the PCCI Presidentiable Forum last Tuesday.
Caught unaware, Tony dished the question in the 3rd round and asked Noynoy to answer first. (In the previous round, Villar had to answer first) I cannot remember now what the question was, but very likely it was one that was not anticipated by Noynoy’s yellow team who diligently gives Noy a drill and a brief (read: codigo) before every forum or debate. Not able to hide his surprise, this son of illustrious parents pointedly cited that he didn’t know the sequence (of answering) was reversed. When Tony L retorted that every presidentiable should be ready for surprise, the lawmaker from Tarlac (who failed to file enough bills, much less have any enacted into law) quipped that the Moderator is biased! No sooner did Noynoy express his sentiment that he wished there was a friendlier, more unbiased Moderator.
How the Cojuangcos got majority control of Hacienda Luisita
When the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) was implemented in Hacienda Luisita in 1989, the farm workers’ ownership of the hacienda was pegged at 33%, while 67% was retained by the Cojuangcos.
The 33-67 split was based on the valuation of the capital each party injected into the new company. The farm workers’ capital, made up of the hacienda’s 4,915.75 hectares of land, was valued at P197 million (P40,000 per hectare). The Cojuangcos’ capital, made up of non-land assets, was valued at P394 million. The ratio of P197 million to P394 million is 33:67.
Villar leads gift-giving in Bataan
Sen. Manny Villar was in Bataan today to lead the gift-giving activities in his mother’s hometown in Orani.
It has been the tradition of Villar, and his wife Rep. Cynthia Villar, to visit Bataan every December to share gifts to their friends and neighbours in their ancestral home in Rizal St., Bgy. Pacar.
“It always feels good to visit Bataan and be reminded of how my Nanay Curing, the original Ms. Sipag at Tiyaga, lived as a young woman,” Villar, the standard-bearer of the Nacionalista Party, said.

A Shattered Peace
IN RECENT weeks, peace in Mindanao was very much the concern of leaders here and abroad and optimism over its prospects was in the air. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during her lightning visit here, urged the Philippine government to push the peace process and affirmed that this has the full support of the United States. Earlier this month, my husband and I were invited by Japanese Ambassador Makoto Katsura and Mme. Yasuko Katsura to a quiet dinner at their North Forbes home and the peace process was among the topics of our conversation. The media also reported how some 300,000 refugees, now housed in various refugee camps in Western and Central Mindanao, have been pining for peace, so that they could return to their homes after the breakdown of the peace process in August 2008.

NP gets Batangas grassroots support
21 November 2009 – The Nacionalista Party (NP) headed by Sen. Manny Villar tightened its influence in Luzon as at least 200 grassroots leaders of Batangas formally joined the political party in a jampacked ceremony held in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
he oathtakers were led by former Gov. Armando Sanchez, 18 incumbent and aspiring mayors, 18 sitting and aspiring vice-mayors, and 140 incumbent and aspiring councilors who were mostly from Kampi.
“We welcome our fearless Batangueños to the Nacionalista Party, which is undeniably now the most stable, organized, and committed to the advocacy of fighting poverty suffered by most of our people,” Villar said.
Cynthia Villar on Manny, the presidency & what her father taught her
Woman on top: Now on her last term, Las Piñas Rrepresentative Cynthia Villar says the reason she has worked so hard all these years is to be able to make independent decisions. Though she admits that she’s had a difficult life, she didn’t have to look far for role models when she was growing up because the women in her family fulfilled that role. “All our mothers and grandmothers are role models,” Cynthia says.
There are two things that may come as a surprise about Cynthia Villar, the woman most likely to become first lady in the next presidency (her husband’s biggest rival is unmarried).
